This week's 52 on Friday theme is Love.  I had a cute stylized idea of my 5 year old and the little girl from church who he said was his wife.  But, as this week progressed I couldn't get away from the song that's been in my spirit all week- Brian Johnson's "Love Came Down", I hope you'll take a minute to listen to it.  So, I sat and thought about how I could visually convey God's amazing love for us.  I chose to share a moment of worship.  I love to worship, I could spend hours just sitting at the feet of Jesus.  My picture this week is my husband playing this song that's been on my heart.  David leads our amazing church in worship every Sunday, and I am so blessed to minister with him.  Music is how we met, what brought us together, and how we share God's love with others.  So, here is my image.  I hope that in this week where Love will be the buzz word, you will take a minute to think about how much God loves you, and what you can do to show your love for Him.

Don't forget to follow through the circle of other photographers to see their images for this week!  You can start here with Kim Smith.  Have a blessed week :)

Well... welcome to my new blog!!!  I am super excited about this new layout :)  So, to show it off to you all I'm going to share some pictures from a session I did with this sweet couple before Christmas.  They are expecting a baby girl pretty soon!  Can't wait to meet her!  But, until then we'll just take a look at these pics with their current "baby"- Ratchet. :)  Hope you all love the new blog, and this sweet family!!!

I am SO excited to be starting a 52 week project today!!!  I am joining with 12 other photographers in a year long photography challenge.  Each week has a theme and we will each share a photograph of our interpretation of that theme on our blog.  You as a follower of my blog will be able to click the link at the bottom of my post to the next blog and eventually make a full circle right back here :)

This week's theme is Self Portrait.  This was extremely difficult for me!  I truly dislike being in front of the camera... I'm much more at home on the other side of the lens!  But, this is a great way for you to meet each of us.  So, here are a few fun, random facts about me- and you'll read some more randomness from each of us as you make the circle!

1. What is the first thing you see in the mornings?
My pillow- (I sleep on my stomach) followed by my phone- (Which doubles as my alarm clock).

2. Three words that describe your personality-
Bubbly, Sentimental, Opinionated... but my husband said Whiny, Childish, and Argumentative.

3.  One thing you wish you could do, but can't-
Travel.  I would so love to travel and see the world, but 3 kids definitely make that difficult!

4. First song that pops into your head.........NOW!!!
Smooth Criminal, Michael Jackson... the kids are playing Michael Jackson: The Experience for the Wii across the hall  :)

5. What got you started in photography?
My sister always was the one we called the Photographer- she had a good camera and was very artistic and creative.  I loved to see the pictures she took, and wanted to learn more about light and my own camera- mainly just to photograph my own 3 kids.  But, the more I read and learned the more I fell in love with light and capturing moments.

6. What do you love most about photography?
I am probably the most sentimental fool you'll ever meet.  I am the kind of person that given the choice to relive my life from the beginning until now or live from now until the
end, I would choose to relive all of my memories.  Pictures are the way we can relive our
memories, looking at a photograph you can recall that exact moment- the conversations,
your surroundings, the emotions- it can bring you back to that place.  I love being able to
capture those moments for others- for them to treasure the way I treasure my photographs.

7. What do you hope to learn/accomplish from this project?I am hoping to challenge myself to be more creative- definitely my weakness- and to just
get the camera out for myself more than I have been.

So, now that you all know a little bit about me here is my Self Portrait.

Like I said earlier, be sure to follow through the circle and see everyone's Self Portrait.  You can start here is a great friend of mine, Sheri Hopfensperger of Sheri Lynn Photography!

I can never get a moment alone in this house... no sooner did I set the timer and Conner came bounding in.

And when word got out that Conner was in the picture... here came everyone else too. :)

I was asked to photograph this sweet little six month old last month, and I was so excited!  Six months is a fun age to work with.  He was not quite sitting up by himself- but he sure tried for me :)  And he sure made us work for these smiles!  Here are some of my favorites :)

To kick off Thanksgiving week, here are my fall mini-sessions.  I was thrilled when so many families that I have photographed in the past called to book a mini-session.  I love getting to see them again, see how the kids have grown :), and get to catch up a bit.  I told my husband that editing these pictures was emotional for me, because I care so much for so many of these people!  I am so blessed when I get to photograph friends.  I love to capture the little moments of my friends loving their families.  I hope you all take some time this week to love on your family and remember all that we have to be thankful for.  Have a blessed holiday!!!

The apples ended up not only being a great prop, but a great way to get smiles from the kids... if you let me take 4 more pictures I'll let you pick an apple... :)

Mason was SO fascinated by our bumble bee visitor!!!

Cinnamon, spice, and everything nice, that's what this little girl is made of!  She is the SWEETEST little thing ever!!!  And her little voice... oh my... she is precious. :)  I was so excited to take her 3 year old pictures, and she is such a natural in front of the camera. :) I love her and her sweet family, here are my favorites from our session.

So, today has not at all gone the way I needed it to.  I have about 3400 images to weed through from this weekend's sessions, I need to finish Halloween costumes... and we have a puppy that is refusing to relieve herself outside.  So, that makes for a crazy morning... and I've yet to get to those things listed above! But, I've been meaning to blog these images from a session a few weeks ago.  I shared some of these on Facebook, but there were several others I wanted to post here. :) We had a great time meeting together to get some family pictures of this beautiful family.  This little guy has the most beautiful blue eyes!  I got to see him again on Saturday for a mini-session (so I'm sure they'll be more of his sweet face on here soon!) I hope you all have had a better morning
than mine was, and enjoy your trick-or-treating tonight!!!

I was more than a little excited when I saw the theme for the i heart faces challenge of the week- Hands.  I absolutely love this picture of hands that I got from a session a couple of weeks ago.  I was saving it to share in my next blog, but I think it's even a better idea to share it now.  Happy Monday everyone!!! :)
